Open Building Research

Open Building NL conducts research on several levels and occasions. First and most important of all is the knowledge and experience gathered in recent Open Building projects.

Case studies: on this page we will show and chronicle the stories of buildings designed by the Founding Partners of Open Building NL.

Essays: Founding Partners will share their insights on development, technology and trends, using the themes Open Architecture, Open Development and Open Systems.

The Open Building Academy started in September 2019. Students of the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam and Delft University of Technology research the Open Buildings, using the themes Open Development, Open Architecture and Open Systems. They will map the similarities and differences, study projects on their level of circularity and compare the various development processes.
